The building, begun in 1932 and completed in 1935, is in the Corinthian style of architecture and its exterior is comprised of gleaming white marble. Since the inception of the United States, and until the construction of the Supreme Court building, the Justices had been meeting in various other chambers to make the nation's judicial decisions...most recently in the "Old Senate Chamber" of the U.S. Capitol.
