"The Commander Hotel - 1930" by Paul McGehee. For many years, The Commander was the northernmost hotel in the Maryland beach resort town of Ocean City, and led the way in service and comfort. First opening its doors on Memorial Day in 1930, the new hotel at 14th Street on the Boardwalk boasted 62 rooms and a full kitchen with wood-fired stoves. The guests enjoyed the fact that they didn't have to carry their luggage up flights of stairs...as The Commander was Ocean City's first hotel to have an elevator! Many generations have enjoyed sitting on their spacious front porch, enjoying the surf and the sea breeze as people would stroll along the Boardwalk. A few years later, The Commander expanded into a huge two-winged building, and was recently completely rebuilt into the beautiful modern luxury hotel that it is today. "The Commander Hotel - 1930" is faithfully reproduced from Paul's original color pencil artwork as an archival quality print issued in a strictly limited edition of only 500 pieces each hand-signed by the artist. Print image size 7" x 9". (Final shipping cost on this small print may indeed be less than actually displayed upon purchase, depending upon destination and weight.)
