"Annapolis at Twilight" by Paul McGehee. Maryland's state capital, the historic port city of Annapolis, has long been a center of government and a hub of commerce. For a brief period it was our nation's capital when, in 1783, the Continental Congress convened at the State House ... and the destiny of a young country was shaped. The United States Naval Academy opened there in 1845, and to this day the Navy's finest pass through her doors. The domed Chapel on the Academy grounds, the site of many a Navy wedding, is also the final resting place of John Paul Jones. The City Dock and Market House areas have witnessed three centuries of maritime trade, from the importing and exporting business of colonial days, to the activities of the watermen who harvest the Chesapeake Bay, and the multitudes of pleasure boaters today. The beautiful city of Annapolis is a place where both past and present come alive. A beautiful mint-condition hand-signed Artist's Proof copy of this popular piece. Print image size 20" x 32".
