"Through the Palms" by John W. Hilton (1904-1983). A very rare Hilton print from over 45 years ago, in perfect condition. This Mohave Desert scene is typical of the luminous paintings he is famous for. Hilton was a student of the great Southwestern artists Maynard Dixon and Nicolai Fechin, and in the 1950's and '60's painted for the Saturday Evening Post. His subjects throughout his long career depicted his two loves; the beauty of the American west, and Hawaii where he lived towards the end of his life. Hilton still has a large following and was recently the subject of a popular book. This beautiful scene is a delight to look at...you will be hard pressed to find a copy of it elsewhere as it is long out of print. Print image 14" x 22". Only one in stock.
