"The New Scholar" by Jennie Brownscombe (1850-1936). Here is a wonderful print by this important American woman artist; one of the founders of the Art Students League in New York. "The New Scholar" captures the essence of school days in days of yore, depicting a young lady heading to her lessons. Brownscombe was noted in her day for her beautifully rendered paintings of people. This print, in excellent condition, is a prime example of her work. This is a collector's print from over 50 years ago, on heavy stock...not to be confused with the "poster" version of this image commonly available today. Print image size 16" x 21". Only one in stock.
