"Coast of Maine" by Frederick Waugh (1861-1940). A gorgeous seascape typical of Waugh's plein air mastery of the New England surf. Waugh studied under the great Thomas Eakins, and built a long career as a marine artist and illustrator. His son followed him as a marine artist. Few artists capture the crashing of breakers as Waugh did. He documented the coast of Maine, as well as fishing scenes of New England in his storied career. This long sold-out large version of this print is from 50 years ago, and is in perfect condition. Print image size 27" x 36". Only one in stock.
