"Christmas in Rothenburg" by Paul McGehee. A Christmas scene of the medieval German city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber; a view of the Plönlein with the Kobolzeller Steige and Spitalgasse. Rothenburg is located in the Franconia region of Bavaria, and is one of the most picturesque old German walled cities along the famed "Romantic Road". The town's name means "Red Fortress above the Tauber River". Rothenburg is famous for its many half-timbered buildings, many of which are several hundred years old. Founded in 1170, one visiting Rothenburg today feels as if they have stepped back in time. "Christmas in Rothenburg" is faithfully reproduced from Paul's original color pencil acrylic paint artwork as an archival quality print issued in a strictly limited edition of only 2,000 pieces each hand-signed by the artist. Print image size: 10 3/4" x 16 1/4".
