"Winter in Central Park" by Paul McGehee. New York City's Central Park is one of the lovliest places in the United States, especially at wintertime, when the Wollman Rink comes alive with ice skaters. Between the months of October to April, the Wollman Rink is opened to the public...for the small price of a ticket, skaters from all over the world can enjoy the ice, nestled within the dramatic setting of the Park, surrounded by picturesque skyscrapers including the famous Plaza Hotel. The Rink opened in 1949 with funds donated by Kate Wollman of the same family which ran the successful W. J. Wollman & Company stock exchange firm. The scene depicted shows the Rink as it appeared in the early 1950s. Wollman Rink is located in the southern portion of Central Park, and is built at the former site of a pond near the famous Gapstow Bridge. Besides winter skating, the Rink in years past was a venue for many concerts and special events. During the summer months presently, the Rink becomes the Victorian Gardens Amusement Park. The Wollman Rink was fully restored in 1987 and is one of the top tourist attractions of NYC.

"Winter in Central Park" is faithfully reproduced from Paul's original color pencil and acrylic paint artwork as an archival quality print issued in a strictly limited edition of only 2,000 pieces each hand-signed by the artist.
