It depicts the waterfront of Georgetown, next to Washington, DC, as it appeared in the 1880's with Georgetown University towering over the Aqueduct Bridge and coal piers. Schooners are shown taking on coal from the barges on the C & O Canal. A beautiful scene, lit by the light of the setting sun.
